Jakob Øster
Since his first performance as an 8-year-old kid, Jakob has had a lifelong passion for performing and telling stories. During his childhood and early adulthood, he was always part of the drama performances in primary school, high school, and at university. After finishing his master’s degree in Political Science, a bachelor’s degree in Music, and one year of education in Theology, Jakob worked as a civil servant in ministries, regional authorities, and is now part-time employed at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen.
Adult life with a wife, three kids, and a full-time academic job left little or no time for performing, but the passion never died out. But at the age of 44, Jakob decided to give acting a full-scale try.
Six years later, Jakob has starred in about 60 short films—several award-winning, including one that won the “Publikumspris” at the Ekko Awards 2022. He has had one supporting role and about 20 smaller parts with lines in TV series and documentaries, and played larger roles in more than 100 Danish and international commercials.
Besides his 3-year education at Panorama Academy, he has also been a student of the late Danish actor Jens Arentzen. Jakob is attracted to characters and parts that explore the darker sides of human nature. Jakob has never been happier in his life and is immensely dedicated to developing both as an actor and as a human being, which often go hand in hand.
